Bookshout – book studies for e-readers!

A little while back I was talking to my friends about doing a Bible study with them even though I live in Ohio and they are back in Maryland. Time constraints and platform were the major issues and probably the main reasons nothing ever happened. It is hard to get a group of people to have the same time available and some place to keep conversations private.

I recently saw a blog about an app called Bookshout and from what it was saying, this would solve my main concerns. Here was an app where you could create book clubs, share highlights and notes and have a conversation together about what you read. That sounds pretty good to me.

I haven’t really had a chance to check out the app much seeing as I just downloaded it while I was typing this blog, but I would love to hear other’s thoughts on this app if you have used it.

Next Wednesday I will have a review of this app and how applicable it can be for our own interests, churches and missionaries too.

  1. So I had full intentions of getting a full review of the BookShout app and then I found out that you have to buy the books through them. I guess I didn’t realize that. Now only if Amazon will create an app like this so I can use all of the books I have already bought on my Kindle. One thing I did realize in this app is that it wasn’t super easy to find groups for the book you wanted to read. It would be good if a Bible study did one together, but finding a random group was not easy at all.

  2. Jacob, we appreciate your giving BookShout a try. I would encourage you to stay tuned as they’ll be making announcements in the next few months that will address some of these issues.
    Thanks,
    Melany (PR for BookShout!)
