It’s been several weeks since I have done a prayer Monday and I apologize for that. I was at a training in Colorado for five weeks and it was way more exhausting than I thought it would be. No excuses though, just thought I would share.
The nation of Malta consists of three small islands in the Mediterranean Sea just south of Sicily. While it is only 122 sq mi, it is the most densely populated of all of the countries in the European Union. Malta has a long history which can be seen in its prehistoric temples, catacombs and World War II bomb shelters. The Christian roots in this nation go all the way back to when the Apostle Paul was shipwrecked there.
98% of the Maltese are affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church in which a strong majority regularly attend mass and over 80% say their religion is important to them. Very few Maltese actively follow Jesus though. Just a little over 5,000 of the 410,000 Maltese are evangelical Christians, actively follow Jesus and make Him a part of their every day life.
Please pray for:
The regular church attenders to recognize their need for Jesus.
The evangelicals to be willing to reach out of their comfort zone to their neighbors, strangers and friends.
