4 Countries, 3 Airports, 2 States and 1 HMA begins

Yesterday morning I left Germany, via France and the Netherlands on my way to Perrysburg via Detroit. Traveling back to the US always results in a long day, especially when you start your day 6 hours ahead of the people with whom you end your day, but overall it was a pleasant trip. I even got an empty seat next to me, which is always a bonus!

Walking out of the airport and seeing family is great. As I was approaching the van, my mom was headed into the airport and she didn’t see me. I know, it’s tough to imagine, but there was a giant SUV that was blocking her view of me, so it’s justified. I yelled for her, she turned and rushed I’ve to give me a hug, the kind that only moms know how to give.

After an easy and uneventful drive we arrived at my mom and Ray’s place. It was dinner time, though my belly and brain didn’t quite comprehend that. It was 12 AM according to my body’s clock,  after all.

After relaxing a bit and fighting sleep, my aunt came over and provided one of the first major praises for this trip. She told me they were going to make a sizable donation and also provide a rental car for me when I go to North Carolina and Maryland. I was flabbergasted (I love that word and wish people would use it more often). Both of those are huge answers to prayer and ended a pretty eventful first night back in the US.

Prayer Runner part 6

3 things I prayed for on my run today:

1. For my little village of Riedlingen and specifically my landlord that they may see God’s glory and believe.

2. For my Aunt’s visit with me (happening now) to be good for her and I.

3. For the leadership training I’m going to in just over a week that it be productive and insightful.

Prayer Runner part 2

I didn’t want to run today because it was stinking hot, but I did because I want this to become my norm. Not because I need running to be my norm, but because I felt a need to have quiet,  His quiet, and to pray.

3 things I prayed for on my run today:

  1. For my friend’s son David to find a couple of good friends.
  2. For my sister Kim’s upcoming marriage to be for His glory and that alone!
  3. To submit my fear and impatience to Him.

IFree you would like me to pray for you on my next run, leave a comment here or on Instagram (@jacobjcoon). I’d love to be praying for you!

Prayer Runner

So, I’m trying something new. I tend to try new things a lot, and then I let them slide, but I am really hoping to do this on a regular basis. The idea was inspired by my good friend who would post a picture of something from his run, which mostly ended up being his sweaty face in a post-run selfie, and then posted what he thought about while running. I tend to listen to music while running, but instead what I decided to try is to take a picture while running, who knows what of, and then post on Instagram and maybe here too, but I was praying about while running.

The goal isn’t for me to boast about my prayer life, because there are far more things in my life worthy of boasting about before my prayer life, but rather it is for people to see that they are being prayed for and to keep me accountable to myself to pray while I run. What else do I have to do?

So, my goal is to pray and then post about three things while I run. Most likely it will be the first half of my run, because the second half is typically only one prayer…”please God, let me keep breathing.”

So here was yesterday’s run and prayers. I hope you enjoy these! I may not post them on the blog every time (unless you all really like them), but you can always find them on my Instagram (@jacobjcoon).
